Why Cooper & Leatherbarrow Ltd?

The move to our current location in Duke Street Darlington came in 1967, from where our family firm has served our clients ever since. Ellis Leatherbarrow, grandson of George, joined the firm in 1981 and is now the principal, having succeeded his father, Ian, on his retirement in 1995. From its inception, the practice has had full workshop facilities, offering a comprehensive and speedy repair service. Workshop manager, Howard Bainbridge, is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers with over 60 years experience. Our practices all have fully-qualified optometrists who have varied and extensive expertise (see Biographies).

We are a family business in all respects, our patient base encompasses toddlers to great-grandparents, with a number of people having been clients for over 50 years. Our company is based on the belief that our clients' needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs.
